Graduations and gardens – celebrating June

Swazi graduates in style
Swazi, one of our Kids Haven young people, graduated this month from St Anthony’s Education Centre with a diploma in Merchandising specialising in Nails and Beauty. We are so proud of her! She looked beautiful on graduation day thanks to donors who assisted with a dress, hairstyle and nails and our loving Kids Haven team who got her all ready. She has worked so hard towards her dream and we wish her great success in her career going forward. If you would like to learn more about Swazi and to find out how you can assist her reach her dream please contact Khethiwe on volunteers@kidshaven.co.za.

Seedlings and love from the Standard Bank crew

The Standard Bank gardening crew
Enthusiastic volunteers joined us from Standard Bank this month to plant much-needed seedlings in our veggie patch. They really put their backs into the work and got the job done with enthusiasm and fun. We can’t wait to see what pops out of the ground soon. All veggies grown are used in our kitchens to feed our Kids Haven family. The Standard Bank crew then prepared a delicious lunch for our children and staff at the Village. It was a wonderful day and we are so grateful for the spirit of giving they shared with us. Thank you. We appreciate you!

We need sheets and duvets – can you help?

Bedding and linen doesn’t last forever and we want our children and young people to have a warm and comfortable place to sleep. We are in need of 60 fitted sheets for single beds and 92 single duvet inners and covers. If you could assist in any way please contact Connie on connie@kidshaven.co.za. Thank you for loving our children through your donations.
