Residential Care
Our first priority is to keep children safe. To protect vulnerable children, Kids Haven provides 24/7 residential care for as many as 172 children, ensuring they live in a caring environment where they feel a sense of belonging. The children attend school, engage in sports, dance, and drama, and are encouraged to support one another and show generosity.
Efforts are made to reconnect families with their children under supervision, with the goal of reunification. By applying a tried-and-tested methodology of structure and routine, Kids Haven creates an environment conducive to behavioural change – the perfect place for children to practice positive behaviour while thriving in a supportive community.
Admission into Care
Kids Haven’s residential care provides a safe haven for vulnerable children. Children in need of care and protection, including those who have been neglected, abused, abandoned, orphaned, or are living on the streets, are welcomed into our care.
Kids Haven also admits children if there is a breakdown in foster-care, or a child has very challenging behaviour and the family cannot cope.
If a child is admitted into care without documentation, Kids Haven will make all representations necessary to secure citizenship for that child, ensuring that every child’s right to a name and a nationality is upheld. Documentation and citizenship is a key component of child safety or protection.

Psychosocial Support and Therapy
Our team of professionals provides dedicated psychosocial support and therapy, ensuring that children receive the emotional care needed to recover from trauma allowing them the opportunity to build resilience. Through individual and group counselling, we help children address their emotional challenges and work towards their personal development goals.
Providing education from pre-school to high school
We believe in the power of education to transform lives. Kids Haven ensures children have access to quality education, from pre-school through to high school. We work closely with local schools and educational institutions to support children’s academic growth, helping them build the foundation for a brighter future.

Life Skills, Sports, Fun Activities
We intentionally address emotional and learning needs by focusing on the holistic development of children by offering life skills and sports activities. These programmes help children build leadership qualities, learn teamwork, and improve self-confidence. Through fun and engaging activities, we address both their emotional and learning needs, allowing them to grow into well rounded individuals.
Care Leavers
At Kids Haven, older children are included in the Care Leavers programme. This is an intentional programme to prepare older children to leave the Children’s Home and live independently in the community. It is a transition-support programme based on global research that recognizes young people who live in care need extra support when they need to leave the Care home, especially if they are to live independently without family support, or their family structures are still complex or abusive. This can also be called an Independent-Living programme.

Family Work
At Kids Haven, we understand the importance of family connections. We work closely with children and their families to help them rebuild relationships and reintegrate into the community. Our goal is to empower children to transition back into a stable and nurturing family environment, ensuring their long-term well-being and success.
Advocacy
Kids Haven recognises our responsibility to change attitudes and behaviours within the community to improve child protection. Our work influences policy decisions and practices regarding the care of vulnerable children, including unaccompanied foreign and migrant children, as well as organisational processes. We actively share our work and support research initiatives that highlight the needs of vulnerable children.
