Adult Volunteering
Kids Haven welcomes adult volunteers who have regular time or a single moment to spend helping at Kids Haven. We need adult volunteers in BENONI who can help with tutoring school subjects or homework support on a weekday afternoon. We need adult volunteers in Benoni who can help with administrative tasks or in maintenance. Chat to us and we will be sure to find a way to use your help – please email volunteers@kidshaven.co.za.
Career Talks
Kids Haven hosts a monthly career talk for children. We need speakers who can share information about the career and the steps to take to enter a career like this. These are very interactive sessions and the children are encouraged to ask questions to find out as much as they can. If you would like to give a career talk, please email youth@kidshaven.co.za.
Networking for Young People
Kids Haven would like to grow our network of businesses, industries and other commercial activities so that we can expose young people to the world of work.
Both of these kinds of visits reveal a world that is vastly different from their own experiences at the moment and can open up ideas and dreams for their future.

In-Person Volunteering Community Hours – Bryanston
Community Hours volunteers are needed to help at our Bryanston office in the Cramerview Shopping Centre on Saturday mornings. The role involves receiving, re-packing, and checking donations. The hours are from 9 AM to 2 PM (5 hours). We can accommodate 1 – 4 teenagers per Saturday. Please book your spot through reception@kidshaven.co.za.
In-person Volunteering Community Hours – Benoni
Kids Haven appreciates older teenagers who can connect directly with the children in the Kids Haven Community Preschool. We need 1 -2 teenagers who are willing to read to the children, promote story-telling and assist the pre-school team in the daily programme, providing extra one-on-one support to the children who attend. The hours are from 8:30 – 12:30 during weekdays in government school term time. Please book your spot through volunteers@kidshaven.co.za.
Mandela Day
Kids Haven welcomes visitors to our Centre on Mandela Day every year. This is a highlight of our year and we would love to see you in July. You can also spend your 67 minutes in your office building a food pyramid of pantry staples or creating a toiletry tower of much-needed personal toiletries.
