Life-changing experiences
Because our children deserve them too

Children need positive experiences to shape their world. We believe something wonderful happens inside a child when they go on outings, and see and try new things. Sometimes they are stretched out of their comfort zones, but there’s no doubt that they grow. Done in a caring and protected way, these become life changing experiences.
Three of our girls got to see the sea for the very first time this month. They headed down to Durban with our carer, Adele, and got to scamper on the beach, have ice creams and takeaways, and stay in a flat together. They loved it. Two of the girls sent these beautiful voice notes about their experiences.
Our pre-school children took a trip to visit the animals in the zoo. The chimps were a highlight. There was much laughing and learning.

The children from Rainbow house had a wonderful time at the monkey and bird park in Benoni.

Our young people attended the SAE Institute Open Day where they were exposed to different careers in the media industry including animation, gaming, film and sound. These opportunities start to shape dreams and grow ambitions to work hard at school to open doors they never knew existed.
Every donation we receive goes to protecting, caring for and growing our children. They deserve a chance to have a childhood that is happy. They deserve positive life-changing experiences. Thank you for being part of their journey.
We are calling for donors to come on board as monthly contributors. Monthly donations are game-changers for us. A reliable income helps us budget and put money where it is most needed – including special experiences like these. Become a monthly donor today. We appreciate you.

Our dancing stars
15 of our children are loving the ballroom and Latin American dancing programme which was started last year at Kids Haven. From the ChaCha to the Rhumba they are showing amazing talent and want to start competing.
They have been invited to the Tshwane Dance Festival on 10 October at the ACPP Sports Arena in Pretoria West and we would love to send several couples to compete. What we are looking for are donations to cover the entry fee of R300 per couple, transport costs, and donations of dancing outfits and shoes (second hand items are fine). If you could assist in any way please drop us an email on hello@kidshaven.co.za or whatsapp us on 071 860 0505. We need your help.
Razzle and dazzle – help our Matrics look their best
The Matric dance is a big event in the lives of Grade 12 students and our children are no different. We have four girls and two boys who want to look and feel great at their upcoming dances. We are looking for donations for them to get hair and make-up done on the day; shoes and accessories; and safe transport to and from the dances. If you would like to support this wonderful event please make a donation here or contact hello@kidshaven.co.za or whatsapp 071 860 0505. Thank you.
